In an old book
I paged through
Once, on a train
Despair hides
In a rainbow
Beating clouds
Despair hides
In a smile of youth
Who farewells life alone
Despair hides
In soldiers’ posts
And sound of artillery
In childhood memories
And boyhood friends
Despair hides
In a bus stop
And the poor’s vehicles
Despair hides
Behind window glass
In rain falling
On tin houses
And smell of earth.

تصفحته
ذات مرة في قطار
يختبئ الاسى
في قوس قزح
يضرب الغيوم
يختبئ الاسى
في ضحكة الشاب
الذي يودع الحياة وحيدا
يختبئ الاسى
في مواضع الجند
وصوت المدافع
يختبئ الاسى
في ذكريات الطفولة
واصدقاء الصبا
يختبئ الاسى
في موقف الباص
وفي عربات الفقراء
يختبئ الاسى
خلف زجاج النوافذ
في المطر الذي ينزل
على منازل الصفيح
ورائحة الارض
